Along with the Women's Indian Premier League, The Hundred and The Ashes in 2023, The Club were delighted to add to the biggest year for Women's cricket by launching our fun, inclusive Soft Ball team, The Slinfold Ewes, which has gone from strength to strength in the years since, with 24 members now enjoying the game and social aspect.

Its deliberately pitched at a level so that anyone aged 12 or above can get involved regardless of whether you've played before or not, with all receiving coaching from an ECB qualified coach on a regular basis. In addition to this, for those that want to, there are local matches, which take place on average every other week. However, there's absolutely no pressure to participate in those, you can just enjoy the practise sessions if you'd rather.

To fit with modern day lives, there is no expectation for anyone to be involved every week, so don't worry if you're only available some of the time. Also, the nature of ground means that there's plenty of safe outdoor space for kids to run & play around in away from the training itself, should you need to bring them - plenty of our members do this. The pavilion will also be open for easy toilet access.

Practise sessions take place at the club on Thursday evenings from 18:30.

​The 8-a-side pairs format means that everyone will face the same number of deliveries when batting, so you can play without fear of getting out and then having to sit aside. 

​And as the name of the game implies, the nature of the ball means no protective equipment is needed to play, and you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in so you can just concentrate on having fun in a relaxed, social environment.
